When the team at the Centre de Santé in France first encountered the VELA Mammography Chair, their initial reaction was to its size. It was certainly bigger than the stool they were using for mammography examinations at the time.

But when Deputy Director Camille Koudrine asked the staff if they were ready to return the mammography chair, they unanimously answered no. The chair had made a significant difference in their daily work, and Sournay Ly, who was responsible for Medical Imaging, also noticed this in her daily interactions with the staff.

Camille Koudrine and Sournay Ly share the following about the VELA Mammography Chair:

The chair simplifies the workflow around patients and provides the staff with good ergonomics during mammography examinations.

Centre de Santé particularly appreciates the back function, which allows the staff to adjust the backrest as far forward as possible, thereby pushing the patient towards the examination equipment. This enables more breast tissue to be included in the examination, resulting in better images.

The chair is used not only for disabled and elderly individuals but also for patients taller than the staff. This allows the staff to lower the patients and achieve the best working conditions, avoiding working with hands above shoulder height.

Centre de Santé has found that the chair appears larger than it actually is, and despite limited space, there is ample room to operate the chair.
