Essential part of rehabilitation at West Berkshire Therapy Centre

West Berkshire Therapy Centre provides a unique rehabilitation gym helping those with mobility problems to exercise safely under supervision, improving their mobility, ability with tasks of daily living, and independence. The Centre deploys sixteen large items of highly specialised and substantially adapted power-assisted equipment, several of which require clients to be seated and positioned very accurately in order for their rehabilitation to be safe, comfortable and most effective in terms of outcomes. Following trials of various seating options to check if any would provide the best solution for clients of all height, width and weight combinations imaginable, with some clients also having spinal curvature and other problems, the Centre’s clients were asked to vote for which adaptable chair was the best one to buy. The vote from the Centre’s clients was completely overwhelming in terms of which chair was the best. The highly adjustable and very comfortable VELA chair available from Medimotion worked very well for everyone, with nothing else coming anywhere close. Our clinical staff could also see this was evidently the case. Basically, we asked our clients how we should spend some of the donations they make to us, to improve our service, and the message could not have been more clear. Since purchasing our first VELA chair, our clients kept telling us to buy one for every situation where they might need one. We took delivery of our fourth chair last week, this latest purchase being funded by a raffle where our clients knew the money raised from them buying tickets was going to mean they were going to get another VELA chair. And already we have seen all four chairs in use simultaneously in our rehabilitation gym. We listen to our clients; the VELA chairs speak for themselves!
