Supports safe and stable patient positioning during CBCT scanning, with a stable seat, supportive armrests and footrest that help the patient remain still and minimize the risk of motion artefacts.
Helps reduce manual handling when positioning patients with easy-rolling wheels .
Provides a stable and secure position during imaging with a locking chair base.

Allows precise alignment with the CBCT equipment while the patient remains seated through electric height adjustment. 
Supports easier sideways transfers with foldable armrests, which also allow extra seat width for patients who need it.
Supports safer sitting down and standing up with the supportive armrests, and lockable centrally braked castors for a stable chair base.

Patient movement can affect CBCT imaging

Even when we try our best to stand still, the body makes small, involuntary movements to maintain balance. These natural movements are often referred to as postural sway.

During CBCT imaging, patient movement may affect image quality and can make diagnostic assessment and treatment planning more challenging.

A stable seated position during CBCT scans

Many CBCT examinations are performed with the patient standing or seated on a conventional stool or office chair. For patients with reduced mobility, impaired balance or other physical limitations, maintaining a stable position throughout the scan can be especially demanding. Age may also influence postural stability, particularly when standing.

Adapt the position to the individual patient

With stable seating and adjustable support, the VELA CBCT Chair helps healthcare professionals adapt the examination setup to the individual patient’s physical capabilities. For patients who find standing difficult, being securely and comfortably seated during the examination can create better conditions for maintaining a stable position throughout the scan.

For optimal hygiene, chairs have easy-to-clean surfaces without recesses where dirt might gather, including the underside of the chair

All backrests are supplied with edge bands to prevent dirt collecting in the joints

All parts can withstand disinfection, for example, with alcohol or chlorine at the recommended concentration and mixing ratios

Light-coloured surfaces make it easy to spot marks when cleaning

Tests and approvals

CE marking: The chair is CE marked in accordance with the Medical Device Regulation MDR 2017/745, which means that the chair complies with all European security requirements.

EMC-test: The chair´s electrical functions are tested and approved in accordance with the latest demands regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), both in terms of radiation and susceptibility, which means that the chair is completely safe to use with all types of electrical equipment, including pacemakers and cellphones.

IP21: The chair´s electrical functions are tested and approved in accordance with IEC 60529 and has an Ingress Protection (IP)21 degree of security, meaning that all components are waterproof and safe to use. This also means that all electronics are protected from waterdrops as well as touch.
